Hmnn, well, didn't follow my own curiosity very well. I've not tried Heronswood, but we'll be getting some baby 'Leonard Messel' magnolias from bluestone.com. Also, ordered some 'casa blanca' lilies from Park Seed co. and picked up a couple of cryptomeria at Lowes.
This year, I intend to stick with previous successes or things I've seen flourish well locally. Was rather a downer last year with such drought to see the landscape suffer so. Hopefully this summer will be a shade less intense.
At Lowes, was sorely tempted by the baskets of summer flowers they already have out. But, now it has gotten so cold again and I'm rather pleased to not have given in to such base desires (ie, bright geraniums and petunias).
Spring is the best time of year! All the promise of life and lush green to come.
