Eats

We ate well on our week away (vacations are not for dieting!). There were great markets right up 176 in Hendersonville. Also, we found lots of neat little restaurants.
My favourite was the Green River Barbeque joint. Look, here are our leftovers. My St.Louis style ribs are hiding something...

Curt's brisket. A whole meal left after stuffing ourselves. I particularly liked the black eyed pea salad - yuuummmmmmm!

We stopped into a place called The Purple Onion for some lemonade (me), iced coffee (yuck, not me) and a hummus plate. Really good - fresh food and a neat atmosphere. Guess that they have music a couple of nights a week. If we go back, it'll have to be investigated further.

*This is a later side note:
Last night we watched 'Bukowski: Born into This' and one of the bearded women said that Hank/Charles/whatever referred to, his, um, thang as 'The Purple Onion.' I don't think that's what these restaurateurs had in mind somehow.
