Alien invaders

It seemed that there was a noisy alien bumping around in our basement kitchen.

I crept down the stairs to investigate and came under attack. Fortunately, it was small and seemed incapable of properly launching it's (clearly) radioactive missiles into my toes. Running in fear for my digits, I managed to get a few snaps off.

Only much later when the pictures were developing did I notice that it was a man-made device. Damn modern scientists, with all their "technology" and "intelligence" - preying upon poor, unsuspecting husbands who can't resist their fancy gadgets.

A success

Well, the barbeque was a lot of fun. The sun stayed out and everyone seemed to be really enjoying themselves. Yay!

I think that we may even have turned a bit of a profit for the neighborhood club. Yay, yay, yay!

Yusuf

Yusuf (Cat Stevens) was on the Colbert Report and played this song. Such a treat to hear that voice which has been with me my whole life...

More swim

Here are a couple of other purchases - the Cudas Hydro Sling water shoes are really comfortable for hanging out in and walking around with dry. I'll be trying them out in the next day or two on a short kayak trip around the lake to see how they feel in the water.

The goggles actually suction on around my neanderthal brow better than any others I've ever tried. Since these eyes get irritated easily, I've always swam with them closed. Now let's see if I can overcome instinct and actually open them.

Swim

So, we are getting really excited about our trip to the outer banks with Sean, Adam and new friends we'll be meeting there - yay!
A couple of nights ago, the Hendersons took us shopping at Costco and we got our paper products for the week. It's getting close now.
In the spirit of things, I did a little shopping of my own! I am sure to look just like this (yeah, right!)...

...actually, for my little stocky figure, this suit fits really well and feels comfortable. Anyhow, if one drinks enough wine, one shouldn't be too self-conscious, right? Gap clothes may be generic, but expensive. On the other hand, they always fit just about perfect. The suit is from their 'Athleta' line.

Strawberry picking

Tomorrow is the big barbeque:
Saturday May 16th, 4-7pm
Lynco Annual Pig Pickin' BBQ
$7 Adult / $5 Child

Anyhow, I'm trying to rally some of the neighbors into getting together desserts. I'm planning on making some cookies.
Also, I went strawberry picking yesterday and I'm thinking of going again today. A big bowl of strawberries should go nicely with just about anything. Maybe a few cans of Reddi-Whip? Yum. Maybe I'll just eat them all myself!
