Sneaky packing

Damn I'm good...How long do you think it'll take Bebalu to find and demolish the swedish fish?

Space oddity

So, I had a ct scan yesterday. It'll be the closest I ever come to space travel...It was pretty fun holding my breath while going thru the giant donut-hole scanner.

The best part was when the doctor showed me my own innards. So cool! Granted, it's a bit of a disappointment to find that there isn't a little workshop of elves that keep me going. However, there was something hugely gratifying in finding the thing causing discomfort is a tiny little blip compared to the black hole of Calcutta that my mind had worked up (you think I whine a lot? You should hear the inner drama queen!).

Also, I have a great skeleton. One day these bones are going to Hollywood baby - I just wish they'd take the rest of me along:)

Winter

Okay, so we do actually get winter here. Granted, it's short and really just a few weeks to help us differentiate between autumn and spring, but sometimes it gets a little chilly. Here's a picture from this morning before the sun broke up the ice. Not very impressive when you see that there is a program on the tv for trucks taking shortcuts over ice in the Alaskan winter. Still, not so bad for North Carolina!

A modern man

Dear me,
A year ago you had to call Sean and tell him to check out an email you sent him two weeks before. What a change - now he even has a myspace page! Check it out. Oif, I am so behind the times - no myspace, blackberry or wii here.

Booksale this coming weekend

Every year I mean to go to the huge book sale they put on at the Beth David Synagogue here in Greensboro. Hopefully I'll remember this year and hopefully I'll see you there! Here's the skinny on it.

Hobbie bag

See Kristin, the beautiful bag you gave me all those years ago continues to get much use. For a while it held violin strings. Since I never practiced much, that seemed like a waste. So, now it holds my knitting project. I love the iridescent green with this purple yarn. Better yet, I think of my dear friend whenever I get out my knitting. Thanks girlie!

Local radio

Guilford College WQFS sometimes plays some interesting stuff. I guess with any college station you're probably going to get a rather eclectic mix. Depending what time you tune in, there's a wide variety. For example, coming home from the snooty market this morning, I got to hear old metal songs. They have a neat bluegrass program sometimes too. Anyhow, if you're local and looking for something random, it's kind of cool.

Celesta

I heard this a while ago & found it interesting. Besides, any excuse to hear even a excerpt from Buddy Holly is great! Anyhow, what a wonderfully dreamy sound this instrument makes...

One for Mr.

I tease him that Cannibal Corpse is his favourite band. He likes them, but not really a favourite. Still, what a fabulous name. Here's a pretty good cover...

Christmas conitinues

Shopping spree!!!

Mum gave us a Gap gift card & so on this grey day after being poked & prodded by my Dr., I decided to get a hot chocolate at Starbucks and go a-shoppin. Two pairs of jeans, a t and a cardigan later. Still, I left Mr. enough to get some pants (at least if he finds them on sale:)

Doesn't the scarf Leilani gave me look great w. the cardigan? Thanks ladies!

New Years Eve

Ahhh, a relaxing end to 2008. Thanks for the cups Marcy - now I can say I have an excuse for being so nosey!

Basket weave

Well kids, my project is finally done - a basket weave scarf. Since I knit poorly, it is full of mistakes and took forever to finish. This represents hours of my life - how sad is that!?
